Queue Up For It If You Want It

I can't believe many Malaysians are contented of having just Dunkin' Donuts. Well, I have to admit it is kinda sad that we only have ONE famous donut chain in Malaysia, and the well-known Krispy Kreme has yet to open outlets in our shore.

Fret not Donut-holics, we have our very own local donut store, first in Malaysia, called the Big Apple Donut which is located in The Curve. This donut place serves about 24 types of donuts, flavours from choc to durian. The donut is so spongy and non-"sickening".

Malaysians are behaving so much like our notorious neighbour, the Singaporeans, nowadays! People love queuing up for restaurants and stuffs like that, and guess what, You can actually see THAT kind of situation in Big Apple Donut. Well, the donuts are really fantastic, it's worth the effort of standing in lines to just buy ONE donut. But many people buy dozens of it (which I did too!), I bought all flavours, one each! Yum-yum!

Really looooonggg queue!

The donut store...easy to locate ;)

Me enjoying my coffee & donut~

SOME of the donuts I bought :D

Big Apple's logo...

The most important thing...you don't feel fat after eating 'em too! :P

Whether you ACTUALLY put on some weight eating this or not I ain't sure, you will have to eat it first then measure on the scale later!~

Dysfunctional

Many of you do not know the skeleton in my closet... I am adopted to this family, dad is crude, overweight, incompetent, intolerant, clumsy, thoughtless and a borderline alcoholic. And he strangles me all the time. He dares me to strip and skateboard around the town.

My mum, she's the well-meaning and extremely patient wife, and I wonder how she never lost her mind to be married to him.

Bro is an interesting dude. He is easily distracted, even, strangely enough by algebraic equations. He's annoying! I love my sister, she's an extremely intelligent girl, one of the brightest characters on the show, with an I.Q. of 160. She plays the baritone saxophone. She is also a Buddhist and often serves as a mouthpiece for the show's writers, many of whom are postgraduates, to voice their knowledge of philosophy, science and history.

My younger sister is the cutest! She is the youngest of the five main family members, and is eternally a baby.

I am obviously the black sheep of the family, I look different, my skin tone is TOTALLY distinguished from the rest, and even my hair! You will know what I mean as I am finally REVEALING my "family" portrait to everyone...............

Blogging is...

#1 A form of unedited, authentic self-expression

#2 An instant publishing tool

#3 An online journal with freshly updated content

#4 Amateur journalism

#5 Something that will revolutionize the Web (think RSS feeds)

#6 A way to create community with your voters, er... readers (think 2,200 comments posted to the Dean for America blog in one day)

#7 An alternative to mainstream media (think InstaPundit by Glenn Reynolds and TalkingPointsMemo by Joshua Micah Marshall)

#8 A tool to teach students how to write (think Kaye Trammel at the University of Florida)

#9 A new way to communicate with customers (think Ray Ozzie, CEO of Groove Networks)

#10 A new form of knowledge management inside big companies

#11 A way for a bunch of navel-gazers to communicate with one another

#12 Something to keep you occupied when you're unemployed (more people than care to admit fit into this category; have you noticed?)

#13 A way to think and write in short paragraphs instead of a long essay (which no one has time to read anyway)

#14 Your email to everyone, as A-list blogger Doc Searls puts it (i.e. a way to stay in touch with family and friends)

#15 A silly word that's fun to say ("Gotta go blog now... ")

#16 A way of writing with a distinct voice and personality (think Halley Suitt)

#17 Something to talk about at cocktail parties ("I blogged Seth Godin and he blogged me back...")

#18 A URL to add to your resume

#19 Something else to do with your mobile phone...think audio blogging and moblogging

#20 Something you don't want your mother to read (what my mother says about blogging)

Nervous but Excited

Taking off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport via Emirates Airlines sounds like fun!! But the idea of it does get on my nerves too. Nervous? Why? Simple, first-time passenger on Emirates (this is the problem when your country has one of the best airline in the world, our homegrown Malaysia Airlines).

Secondly, I've never left the ultimately mysterious but yet awesome continent of Asia, and the next thing I know I will be in the exotic Turkey, Greece & United Arab Emirates! Three differently themed places, an Asia-cum-Europe crossed culture land, another with history dated back thousands of years, and lastly, an oil-rich super modern state with skyscrapers everywhere! How bizarre?

Istanbul, Turkey

Athens, Greece

Dubai, U.A.E.

Next big question, how can a mummy's boy like me take it? Well, other than the fact that the weather is freaking hot there in those countries, the culture shock might be interesting. But I am 100% sure I will be alright (after being trained in AIESEC for 4 years, I better be!). We'll see...

I am also "armed" with my brand new Deuter Quantum 70+10 backpack, Olympus water-resistant camera, Maxis Postpaid with int'l roaming, moisturizer spray, loads of wet tissues, waterless handwash, blah blah blah. I HAVE to be fine!

How could I forget? My purpose of travelling all the way there ain't only touring, but mainly attending a 2-weeks long brain squeezing conference called the International Congress 2007 which will be held in Istanbul! Greece and UAE are just post-tours! So I will be out of Tanah Air Tercinta for more than 3 weeks!

Anyway, fingers crossed! It's gonna be AWESOME I know it!

International Congress 2007 hier komme Ich!!! Exotic places hier komme Ich auch!!!
